His unforgivable acts have led him to be haunted by the ghosts of those he killed ever since, and Kishibe narrates the story with all the horror you'd ever want. At the man's happiest moment in life, the beggar challenged his victim to an impossible test which was meant to kill him, but a selfish act saw the man sacrifice his servant to live. The spirit of the beggar swore revenge on the man, and he waited years his victim to grow older with a family and wealth. It was there the hero heard the terrible tale, and it is rather upsetting.Īs it turns out, the man who confessed was once an average person who scorned a beggar and even led the man to death. For those who are not aware of the story, you should know Hirohiko Araki penned it in July The one-shot story features Kishibe as the narrator who tells audiences about a tragic story he heard while traveling Italy.ĭuring his trip, Kishibe snuck into a church and agreed to hear a man's confession after being mistaken for a priest.
Fans have been eager to watch this adaptation for awhile now, and it seems like it will live up to expectations. The OVA series has taken on some strange stories, but few are as dark as this twisted tale. Combined with the music and art style, this trailer comes off as one of the creepiest for Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan. Fans are then greeted by a richly man in danger, a possessed girl, and a horrific ghost with an eye on revenge. It all begins with the star as he travels to an Italian city filled with gorgeous architecture. The video, which can be seen below, showcases a bunch of eerie scenes starring Kishibe. Not long ago, a new promo went live for JoJo which highlighted the fan-fav character.
It's truly a shame that it's only 3 episodes, this is lightning in a bottle, a perfect live action adaptation. It has been awhile since fans heard from JoJo's Bizarre Adventurebut the series will make a special comeback soon with Kishibe Rohan. For people who haven't a clue of what I'm talking about, meaning people that haven't even heard of the source material, this is still very well worthwhile your watch. This is not at all similar to the Diamond is Unbreakable live action, this captures that bizarre Jojo's feeling in live action far better than the previous live action ever did, and that in spite of stands never appearing. The set ups and payoffs for the bizarre situations we find Rohan in are more rewarding than they ever were in the manga, in fact, a lot of the writing is more solid than it was in the manga or the OVA. Nuances in facial expressions and movement really helps in bringing Rohan to life.
I absolutely adored every single scene, entranced by how Issei manages to make lines that would otherwise only work in a manga, work in real life. Takahashi Issei sounds different from the Anime-counterpart, but makes up for it in his realistic performance of how Kishibe Rohan would act if he was a real person. While some of the scenes in the first episode do drag a little on the exposition font, the series as a whole is absolutely brilliant.
